Source: Laboratory confirmed data from the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS).

National Influenza Centres (NICs) and other national influenza laboratories from 68 countries, areas or territories reported data to FluNet for the time period from 29 June 2015 to 12 July 2015a (data as of 2015-07-27 12:46:00 UTC). The WHO GISRS laboratories tested more than 21868 specimens during that time period. 2206 were positive for influenza viruses, of which 1680 (76.2%) were typed as influenza A and 525 (23.8%) as influenza B. Of the sub-typed influenza A viruses, 175 (12.9%) were influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and 1178 (87.1%) were influenza A(H3N2). Of the characterized B viruses, 89 (94.7%) belonged to the B-Yamagata lineage and 5 (5.3%) to the B-Victoria lineage.
