Organization’s (WHO’s) Executive Board |

WHO’s Executive Board consists of 32 members, nominated by 32 of WHO’s
Member States on a rotating basis and maintaining balanced
geographical distribution. The Executive Board is the active oversight
organ of the work of the WHO Secretariat, reviewing the Secretariat’s
work and reporting to the Organization’s highest governing body, the
World Health Assembly.

The main technical topics of discussion
include infant and young child
feeding, WHO’s medicines strategy, food safety, the
retention or destruction of smallpox virus stocks, the
deliberate use of biological and chemical agents to cause
harm, WHO’s involvement in public-private interactions for
health, and contractual arrangements in improving health
systems performance.
