Immunization safety

Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS)

Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS) was established in 1999 with a mandate to enable WHO to respond promptly, efficiently and with scientific rigour to vaccine safety issues of global or regional concern with the potential to affect, in the short or long term, national immunization programmes. GACVS also monitors the safety of vaccines during clinical testing and fosters the development of improved AEFI surveillance systems in low- and middle-income countries.
