This document is targeted for use in countries in measles mortality reduction settings. It provides guidance to public health workers at the national and regional levels on the appropriate measles outbreak prevention and response practices. More specifically, it provides guidance on detecting and confirming a measles outbreak; investigating and managing an outbreak; and communications and public awareness during a measles outbreak.
