Identify situations where specific typing methods should be used.

  • identify the situations in which typing is relevant, including:
    • confirmation of an outbreak when epidemiological methods lack sensitivity;
    • identification the cause of disease (environmental reservoir);
    • description of the phylogeny of pathogen.
  • identify typing methods adapted to the situation.
