The global paediatric HIV data in this section is taken from the Global update on HIV treatment 2013: Results, impact and opportunities (WHO, UNAIDS, UNICEF).
- Table 1 outlines the number of children with HIV younger than 15 years of age receiving ART along with the estimated numbers of children eligible for ART in low- and middle-income countries. These estimates highlight the treatment gap across regions, with Africa accounting for the biggest burden of HIV and lowest coverage of ART.
