The IATT held the 2007 Global Partners Forum on achieving universal access to comprehensive prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) in Johannesburg from 25 - 27 November. More than 200 high-level delegates from all regions of the world attended the meeting, which was jointly convened by the World Health Organisation and the UN Children's Fund on behalf of the IATT partners.

The South African Minister of Health, Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, welcomed delegates to the forum and chaired a special session for government ministers and other high level government officials to discuss political issues involved in the acceleration and extension of PMTCT programmes.
