This report presents data on cases of AIDS and newly diagnosed HIV infection reported by 30 June 2002 in the 51 countries of the WHO European Region, together with data on HIV prevalence among homo/bisexual men for the years 1996 to 2001. Most data are presented and discussed within three geographic areas: the West, the Centre and the East.
