WHO to convene a Global Partners’ Meeting on Hepatitis

27-28 March 2014 – WHO Geneva, Switzerland

WHO Global Partners’ Meeting on Hepatitis will convene in Geneva to discuss the current status of the epidemic, levels of response in countries and future actions for enhanced hepatitis control worldwide.

The meeting is expected to bring together representatives from international organizations such as the European Centre for Disease prevention and Control (ECDC), Agence Nationale de Recherche sur le Sida et les hépatites (ANRS), the World Bank, and Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and Viral Hepatitis Prevention Board (WHPB), among others. Representatives from Ministries of Health from Egypt, Georgia, Senegal and Slovenia will present their countries’ examples of prevention and treatment programmes.

Non-governmental organizations such as the Coalition for the Eradication of Viral Hepatitis in Asia Pacific (CEVHAP), European Liver Patients Association (ELPA), Medécins Sans Frontière (MSF), Médecins du Monde (MdM), Treatment Action Group (TAG) and Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) will also participate presenting experiences of communities and groups living with viral hepatitis.
