This guide is intended for professionals working with "safe routes to school" programmes. It may be used by other people and community groups involved in similar processes. This guide demonstrates rapid prospective HIA, a type of HIA that should occur early in the life of the project (preferably at the planning stage), help to decide whether further HIA work is needed, and help to design evaluation and monitoring as the project moves forward.
