The Logistics Operational Guide - a tool developed by and for humanitarian logisticians!

To further strengthen effective cooperation, coordination and efficient delivery of services, the Global Logistics Cluster Support Cell, in collaboration with representatives of a wide range of humanitarian organisations and supported by WFP, has developed the Logistics Operational Guide.

    Interagency Emergency Health Kit 2006. This health kit provides medicines and medical devices for 10 000 people for approximately 3 months.
  • Military and Civil Defence Unit (MCDU)
    MCDU is situated in the Emergency Services Branch of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
  • United Nations Joint Logistics Centre (UNJLC)
    UNJLC is an inter-agency facility reporting to the Humanitarian Co-ordinator within complex Humanitarian crisis, and overall to the Inter-Agency Standing Committee. Its mandate is to co-ordinate and optimise the logistics capabilities of humanitarian organisations in large-scale emergencies.
  • Logistics Supply System (LSS)

    LSS is a tool that contributes, within the logistics chain, to the rapid response, better coordination, and improved management of humanitarian supplies, by providing information on supplies from arrival to distribution.
  • United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC)
    UNDAC team is a stand-by team of disaster management professionals who are nominated and funded by member governments, OCHA, UNDP and operational humanitarian United Nations Agencies such as WFP, UNICEF and WHO.
