Tracking health performance and humanitarian outcomes
1 - 2 December 2005
Over 80 leading experts from Member States, UN agencies, NGOs, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and academic bodies participated in a two-day meeting in Geneva convened by WHO, on behalf of the Interagency Standing Committee. They discussed the use of health, mortality, and nutrition data in crises and disasters. The conclusions of this expert consultation are expected to shape the creation of a much-needed worldwide Tracking System for the objective assessment of the severity of humanitarian crises, and monitoring the outcomes of humanitarian assistance.
