As part of the Global Health Cluster activities to strengthen the health response in countries facing humanitarian crises, this training is organized by the South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and the Western Pacific Regional (WPRO).

Health Cluster Coordinator training - 20-24 September 2010 - Geneva, Switzerland
The Health Cluster Coordinator Training will take place in Geneva 20-24 September and will be held in English. The aim of the HCC Training is to prepare participants for deployment as Health Cluster Coordinators in acute and chronic emergency situations. The curriculum, developed by the GHC, includes in-depth learning about the role of HCC and the use of the GHC tools.
Established by the General Assembly (GA) of the United Nations in December 2008, 19 August 2010 is the second World Humanitarian Day. The designation of the Day is a way to increase public understanding of humanitarian assistance activities worldwide. The Day also aims to honour humanitarian workers who have lost their lives or been injured in the course of their work. The General Assembly invites all countries, the entities of the UN system and international and non-governmental organizations to observe the day annually in an appropriate manner.
