State of cessation programmes policies, by WHO region, 2012

The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) requires Parties to implement effective cessation services for tobacco dependence.

As at December 2012, only 21 WHO Member States offered national toll-free quit lines as well as cessation advice in health care settings and pharmacological therapy, both at least partially cost-covered.
