In almost all countries nursing and midwifery services are estimated to comprise over 80% of the health care services. The ratio of nursing and midwifery personnel to physicians shows that while in close to 20% of Member States, there are more than 6 nurses for every physician, about 30% have less than 2 nurses for every physician.
