In almost all countries nursing and midwifery services are estimated to comprise over 80% of the health care services. The ratio of nursing and midwifery personnel to physicians shows that while in about 27.3% of Member States, there are fewer than 2 nurses for every physician, over 30% have more than 5 nurses for every physician.
