Global Foodborne Infections Network (GFN)

Members

In May 2012 the Global Foodborne Infections Network had 1062 members from 184 Member States and territories.

Activities directed towards member institutions:

  • participation in regional training courses on foodborne disease surveillance
  • participation in external quality assurance programmes on serotyping and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Salmonella and the identification of Campylobacter and Shigella.
  • reference testing of selected foodborne pathogens
  • provision of technical information and methodological support and help in identifying reliable and affordable sources of antisera

To reflect our scope beyond Salmonella, we have changed our name from Global Salm-Surv to the Global Foodborne Infections Network (GFN).
