Gender, women and health

WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WPRO)

Gender, Women and Health Network

The Western Pacific Regional Office supports Member States and technical programmes to analyse and address equity, social determinants, gender and human rights issues in health. The Regional Office considers gender as a key determinant of health. It works to identify how gender inequalities affect the health of women and men across the Region. In collaboration with country offices, it also works to strengthen the capacity of Member States and technical programmes to use gender analysis to assess health issues, programmes, policies and services and to take actions to reduce gender-based health disparities and to promote gender equality.
