About ASFM

AFSM is an autonomous association which has a recognized place within the World Health Organization. AFSM provides an information and support network to WHO former staff. The three main objectives of AFSM activities are:

Solidarity

AFSM answers queries and gives advice to provide assistance and counsel in case of need.

Advocacy

AFSM promotes the welfare of all members by raising a collective voice, with particular attention to pensions and staff health insurance.

Friendship

AFSM publishes a Quarterly Newsletter (QNT), issues a Directory of Former WHO Staff, and carries out other social and cultural activities to promote contacts and preserve relations developed while working.

  AFSM is organized by an Executive Committee and a biennual General Assembly of its members.

  AFSM welcomes all former WHO staff anywhere in the world to become a member!
• Regional Former Staff Associations
  Some of the WHO regions have former staff associations. AFSM provides support and encouragement to them and maintains close contacts.
