About ASFM
AFSM is an autonomous association which has a recognized place within the World Health Organization. AFSM provides an information and support network to WHO former staff. The three main objectives of AFSM activities are:
Solidarity
AFSM answers queries and gives advice to provide assistance and counsel in case of need.
Advocacy
AFSM promotes the welfare of all members by raising a collective voice, with particular attention to pensions and staff health insurance.
Friendship
AFSM publishes a Quarterly Newsletter (QNT), issues a Directory of Former WHO Staff, and carries out other social and cultural activities to promote contacts and preserve relations developed while working.

Structure and organization
AFSM is organized by an Executive Committee and a biennual General Assembly of its members. -
Membership
AFSM welcomes all former WHO staff anywhere in the world to become a member! -
Regional Former Staff Associations
Some of the WHO regions have former staff associations. AFSM provides support and encouragement to them and maintains close contacts.
