Salmonella
WHO and FAO initiated international risk assessment work on Salmonella in 2000. Two JEMRA meetings have focused on Salmonella spp. in eggs and broiler chickens. This work has resulted in volume 1 and 2 in the "Microbiological Risk Assessment Series" published 2002. In 2009 new work on Salmonella and Campylobacter in chickens was initiated to support ongoing work in the Codex Alimentarius on the management of these pathogens in chickens.
