Dörte Döpfer

A veterinarian, epidemiologist and microbiologist by training, Dörte Döpfer has worked in bovine clinics, taught infectious diseases as an assistant professor at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, and is, since a 2002, Senior veterinary epidemiologist at the Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology Group, Division of Infectious Diseases, Animal Sciences Group Wageningen UR, Lelystad, the Netherlands.

She is currently working on mathematical models for infectious diseases specializing in complex host-pathogen interactions and transmission dynamics of infectious diseases, disease surveillance and risk analysis. The QVE group advises the Dutch government during decisions about animal disease prevention and combat of outbreaks such as foodborne zoonotic diseases and former list A diseases.
