Developing country contributions

In 2008 Malaysia became the first developing country to make a contribution to the FAO/WHO Project and Fund for Enhanced Participation in Codex (Codex Trust Fund). Prior to 2008 Malaysia had benefitted from Codex Trust Fund support and is now demonstrating their engagement in Codex through yearly contributions to the Codex Trust Fund. Through such engagement in Codex, Malaysia and other countries can realize a "triple-win" through: better opportunities for international food trade; enhanced economic development; and improved public health both at home and globally.
