Third international workshop on total diet studies, Paris, France, 14-21 May 2004
WHO in collaboration with national agencies has sponsored the First and Second International Total Diet Study (TDS) Workshops in Kansas City in July 1999 and in Brisbane in February 2002, respectively. Subsequently, two regional TDS workshops were held in Buenos Aires in July 2002 and Brno/Prague in November 2002. These workshops have consistently confirmed that total diet studies offer the most cost-effective approach for assessing many chemcial contaminants in diet.
Building on the success of these workshops, WHO in collaboration with the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) held the Third International Workshop on Total Diet Studies in Paris from 14 to 21 May 2004. The workshop was bilingual French-English and was preceded by a Training Course in Total Diet Studies from 10 to 14 May 2004 in French only. The TDS training course provided an introduction to total diet studies for 20-16 qualified persons from francophone developing countries.
