Human rights violations: discrimination

Mental illness carries a huge burden of stigma and discrimination. People with mental disorders are often assumed to be lazy, weak, unintelligent, difficult and incapable of making decisions.

These people are also thought to be violent and they often invoke fear despite the fact that they are far more likely to be the victims of violence rather than the perpetrators.
