Test, Treat, Track: scaling up the fight against malaria

On World Malaria Day, WHO urged the global health community to further scale up investments in the fight against malaria through the T3 initiative: Test, Treat, Track. Malaria-endemic countries need to be able to test every suspected malaria case; treat every confirmed case with quality-assured antimalarial medicines; and track the disease through timely and accurate surveillance systems. Today’s malaria surveillance systems only detect one tenth of the estimated global number of cases.
