Western Côte d'Ivoire: violence affects the most vulnerable
April 2011
WHO
Life in Côte d'Ivoire is slowly returning to normal after four months of post-electoral violence. The western part of the country was most affected by the months of inter-communal violence that spread to much of the country in March and early April 2011.
According to UNHCR, 800 000 people have been displaced in Côte d’Ivoire, about 200 000 of them in the western part of the country. This photo story shows scenes of the living conditions for some of the displaced people in the western part of Côte d’Ivoire and describes the health issues they are facing.
