Fifth session of the Conference of the Parties to the WHO FCTC

In accordance with decision FCTC/COP4(25) the fifth session of the Conference of the Parties to the WHO FCTC (COP5) will be held from 12 to 17 November 2012 at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The first plenary meeting will open at 10:00 on Monday, 12 November.

Regional meetings

Regional groups will meet on Sunday, 11 November, from 16:00 to 18:30 and, from Tuesday 13 November to Saturday 17 November from 08:45 to 09:45.

Online registration

Online registration is required for COP5, for Parties and observers accredited to the COP. One focal point needs to be designated to register the delegations. Focal points need to register first using the username and password provided in the invitation letter sent to Parties and observers.

Online registration should be completed by 31 October 2012.

Credentials

Although a copy of the credentials will have been submitted through the online registration system, original credentials are required and should be sent directly to the Convention Secretariat before the opening of the session.

Accommodation in Seoul and local arrangements

INTERCOM is the official local agent appointed by the Government of the Republic of Korea to assist participants, in coordination with the Convention Secretariat, with accommodation in Seoul, airport transfers, shuttle service between hotels and the conference venue, and other local arrangements.

Visa

Participants are requested to ensure that they are in possession of a valid passport or an appropriate travel document recognized by the Government of the Republic of Korea.

Travel support

Travel support may be provided to low and lower-middle income countries (including LDC countries) as per decision of the COP. Travel support will be processed by the Secretariat upon receipt, latest by 15 September 2012, of a copy of the credentials through the online registration system or original credentials sent directly to the Secretariat.
