ePORTUGUESe Programme contributed to the Ebola Virus Disease preparedness in Guinea Bissau

Guinea Bissau has never experienced an outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD), but, owing to the proximity to Guinea and population mobility, the Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with cooperation partners, launched a contingency plan in March 2014 for the prevention of and response to a possible outbreak of EVD in the country.

The Ministry also created an emergency task force to prepare an emergency plan for a possible outbreak, which meets regularly to assess the situation with partners and to discuss next steps.
