Speeches

Queen Silvia of Sweden inaugurated the Global Consultation on Child and Adolescent Health and Development. During the opening session, an introductory statement was made by Ms Ingela Thalén, the Swedish Minister of Social Security and Children’s Affairs. This was followed by speeches from WHO’s Director-General, Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland, UNICEF’s Executive Director, Ms Carol Bellamy, and World Bank’s Vice President for Human Development, Mr Jozef Ritzen.
