Science, tools, and policies: What do we know? What can we do?
WHO synthesizes the best available scientific evidence on environment and health to report on trends, develops standards for acceptable levels of risk and provides guidance to professionals who need to make science relevant to policy actions. In addition,WHO is developing approaches and tools to support the more effective use of scientific information:
by supporting multisectoral and multi-stakeholder dialogue and decision-making,
and addressing the needs of vulnerable groups such as children. In all its activities,WHO aims to create better bridges between science and action.
