A prioritized research agenda for prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases
Cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes
The main focus of the research agenda is on the four major NCDs – cardiovascular disease (CVD), cancer, chronic respiratory disease and diabetes – and shared risk factors and determinants within and outside the health sector. These four NCDs contribute most to the global NCD burden and are mainly responsible for the rapidly rising NCD morbidity and mortality trends in low- and middle-income countries. The overall goal of the document is to ensure that decisions an actions for addressing NCDs are grounded in evidence from research.
