This initiative aims to inform the decision making process by promoting a better understanding of reproductive and child health in post conflict setting. Furthermore, it will identify best approaches to strength health system in post conflict setting. Through this initiative it is hoped that reproductive and child health system, policy and services in post conflict setting will be better informed in order to improve policymaking and program development and that we will be closer to attaining the health related MDGs.
The driving force behind such an initiative is that policy makers require reliable evidence to make effective and informed decisions. Research, if correctly framed and disseminated, can provide that evidence. Our claim is that if researchers are enabled to produce the evidence and have the capacity, skills and the resources to do the research, then evidence based health systems decisions and policies are more likely to take place
