UN General Assembly adopts resolution on universal health coverage
On 12 December, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution that called on governments to “urgently and significantly scale up efforts to accelerate the transition towards universal access to affordable and quality health-care services”. Furthermore, it urged governments, civil society and international organizations to promote the inclusion of universal health coverage as an important element in the international development agenda.
