Tracking resources and results for women’s and children’s health
Ensuring global reporting, oversight and accountability on women's and children's health is key to ensure resources are used to maximum impact. The Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health, co-chaired by WHO's Director-General and International Telecommunications Union's Secretary-General, underpins the United Nations Secretary General's Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health. Obtaining accurate information on births, deaths and causes of death as well as monitoring the resources committed is key to ensuring the strategy succeeds. An independent expert review group will regularly provide the latest information to the Secretary-General until 2015.
